A very promising category with high quality standards due to strict production regulations.

An exact defined growing area. (Appellation D‘Origine Controlée) Strict rules for grape growing, harvesting and pressing. The production quantity is limited to 100l of juice from 150 kg of grapes and 80 hl per hectar.

According to the “méthode champenoise” the 2nd fermentation takes place in the bottle. The minimum ageing period is 9 months

GRAND C is only using grapes which have been picked by hand and carefully selected. The minimum ageing time is 18 months. This is why GRAND C is particularly elegant and balanced.

The domaine Joseph Cattin is a family owned estate of 50 hectares. The domaine is located in Voegtlinshoffen in the Haut-Rhin department close to Colmar.

The vineyards lie on the foothills of the Vosges, the attitude of the plots varies from 200m to 400m, mostly facing south and south-east and thus getting maximum sunlight. This results in grapes incomparably fruity.

The climate is very favourable. Rainfall is one of the lowest in France, summers are hot and dry. Soils are mainly dominated by shell limestone, granite, loam and clay. Overall ideal conditions to produce excellent wines and Crémants.
